How to read an electricity smart meter made by Aclara
Locate the reading menu by pressing button B until you see ‘Total…‘ or ‘TOU…‘ displayed. This means that you’re in the ‘Reads‘menu.
Now press button A to scroll through. You’ll see options like ‘Total Active Import kWh‘, ‘Total Active Export kWh‘ and ‘TOU Rate 1‘.
The meter readings that are used depend on your tariff. For single-rate tariffs, it’s ‘TOU Rate 1’, and for two-rate tariffs it’s ‘TOU Rate 1’ (daytime) and ‘TOU Rate 2’ (night time).
