Valda Energy

Valda Energy is competitive and may offer a good deal. However, their process is slightly different from that of other companies:

The Valda contracting process

To generate a customer contract from Valda, each customer MUST go through a pre-qualifier credit check.

The pre-qualifier will determine which matrix tariff will apply to the customer, Smart Established A or Smart Established B. The pre-qualifier will also determine whether the customer qualifies for direct debit
payment, or whether card payment will be requested by Valda.

Blizzard will notify you of this outcome so you can contract the customer correctly. (Please see below payment cycle for both methods of payment).

The meter will also be subject to a SMART meter install, for Valda to invoice accurately and take correct payments.

Once a contract has been agreed, Valda will call the customer to arrange the meter install, which will take 4-6 weeks.

It is vital during this period without accurate consumption data, that the customer provides at least two meter readings, to ensure accurate payments are taken from the customer account. The alternative could
see excessive payments made, as inaccurate D-19 industry data held will be used instead to calculate the payment required.

We recommend that the customer takes meter readings on Day 1 and Day 14 of supply. The customer can either submit the readings themselves or provide them to us to submit on their behalf.

You will receive an email with a link in it to setup your DD details.

Once live an invoice will be produced 15 days after you have gone live and DD taken 10 days after that.
DD’s prior to Smart meter installation will be based on industry usage, once Smart meter installed will be based on actual usage.

If there is an initial payment, this will need to be paid so that we can take over the supply

Once paid this will show as a credit on the account, if the site does not go live for any reason this will be refunded back to the card.

Payment is collected when you have 15 days or less of credit on your
account, this may mean that a payment is collected on the first day you
go live.
We will inform you of the payment amount 2 days prior to taking the
payment.
Card payments prior to Smart meter installation will be based on industry usage, once Smart meter installed will be based on actual usage.
